Japan Post EMS saves money upfront but offers no online portal for paying customs charges. You will need to contact your local post office with your tracking number for payment instructions. UPS and DHL both let you pay duties through their website before delivery, which avoids that extra step but adds $20 to $35 for the courier alone. Both UPS and DHL may add their own brokerage fees on top, and Wancher has no control over those amounts. Wancher’s shipping policy is direct about the cost: cancellation during shipping due to “unawareness of import and tax laws” triggers a 15% restocking fee on the order value, plus the full cost of shipping the watch back to Japan.
On a $500 watch, that is $75 in restocking alone, before return postage. If customs duties went unpaid and the parcel returns to Wancher, the terms page adds that Wancher’s own customs charges will be deducted from your refund, and the original outbound shipping fee is not refunded either.
30-day returns and the 1-year warranty
